State Meet Musings

I spent a very long, very enjoyable day the the USAG Kansas State Gymnastics meet.  So far I've judged one session of Platinum/Diamond Floor Exercise, two sessions of Gold Uneven Bars, and two sessions of Bronze Balance Beam.  Tomorrow I will judge three sessions of Silver Balance Beam.  All together there are close to 1,000 gymnasts in this meet representing 23 gyms.

I saw some very good gymnastics today and yesterday.  I also, unfortunately, have seen some very ugly gymnastics; the kind of gymnastics that offends my eyeballs to have to watch it.  I have met some fantastic coaches and parent volunteers.

I have seen some quite ridiculous names.  Some of my (not-so)favorites are:
     Karizma
     Isabelladona
     Jazzmina
     Harmonee
     Kizzy
     Krizten
     Saylir

That's enough for me today!

  1. Sounds like a very busy day! My favorite name from the list: Krizten! I just read some of your other posts - the ABC one and noticed you're an Okie at heart. I'm from OK and my husband's from KS, but we've wandered far from home.
